rApps in Open RAN

Applications developed to enable innovation and deployed on the top of Non-Real time Radio Intelligent Controllers (RIC) are called rApps.

In conjunction with Machine learning (ML), these apps can create value in the telecom ecosystem. Various types of functionalities and use cases can be enabled by leveraging rApps.

It is imperative for telcos to enable more efficiency in their Network Operations and one such use case of rApps to reduce energy consumption at cell-sites is captured below.
